Maya Tawil

Biography

Freelance graphic designer and illustrator Maya Tawil studied visual communication and art direction at Ateliers des Beaux Arts and Academie Charpentier in Paris. She specializes in brand creation and re-branding, has experience in corporate-identity development and has worked with a number of restaurants and retail outlets.

Tawil adores illustrating kid's books and has worked with three separate Lebanon-based publishing houses. Her art is inspired by the “authenticity, invention and naïveté of children's drawings," and she never ceases to “marvel at the power of a child's imagination."

In her spare time, Tawil likes to relax at her family’s traditional red-roofed home in Batroun, where she enjoys sitting in the garden, surrounded by her chickens. She is an avid traveler and considers cultural exchange vital to her work as a designer.
