Samar Ziadeh

Biography

Samar Ziadeh has always had a passion for illustration. She spent her childhood school days doodling on desks, drawing caricatures of her teachers and reading cartoon magazines like Tintin, Asterix & Obelix and Martine. Always, the characters and drawings, not the story itself, were what interested Ziadeh most.

After studying fine arts at college, she translated that passion into a career illustrating books for children. “I figured I should do a grown-up thing with my passion for cartoons, so I illustrated a series of children's books. Now I have rich experience in drawing cartoons and illustrating children's books. I draw dreams and fairy tales. I make them come true in a beautiful, colorful way."

Ziadeh is mother to a “little angel who inspires with his innocence" and who gives her “great ideas about the material that children should read in order to develop their mental abilities and imagination." She still loves reading children's books and watching cartoons (Tom & Jerry is her favorite), and she continues to maintain the rebellious, artistic spirit of her youth. “I don't promise that I will not draw my bosses, because they tend to be fun characters and attractive to little minds."
