Biography
Born on May 8, 1970 (“too many years ago"), children’s book author Rolla Saade completed her baccalaureate studies at the Zahret Al-Ihsan school and studied sociology at Beirut’s St. Joseph University.
“I've been writing ever since I was a little girl," says Saade, who grew up in Beirut with three older brothers: Jean Pierre, Antoine and Roger. “When I was young, I would write cute letters to my family. Sometimes they would just be simple sentences such as, ‘Mummy, I love you,’ ‘Dear brother, I hope you will succeed at school,’ or ‘Forgive my mistakes, mummy.’ I know I was foolish and shy, but I was trying to express myself."
“I like writing for children because I think like them, and I appreciate the truth they speak. I have a child's heart. I love chocolate and cats, and I don't like sports and rules, as I like to be free."
Because she is “still shy," becoming well known may be difficult for Saade. Nevertheless, she thinks she will like it.
